I am a happily married Civil Servant living near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire with my wife Kathleen and our only son Mark, who was born in 1987. In fact shortly after our wedding in 1979 we moved to the Cheltenham area from Co. Durham where we had both been born, in my case in 1952, and raised. We moved south for the work and for a change in surroundings and have never regretted it, although to me the North East will always be 'home' and thankfully I have never lost my accent.
I use the Internet mainly for fun, checking out various newsgroups to get peoples views on software and related problems and as an aid to family history research, and also as a useful tool to help with research for projects that my son has to do for school. There is something special in being able to visit the Museum in Memphis, Egypt, to collect pictures and text to assist in a school History project on Ancient Egypt.
